Space Chicken Brush on Bristol Here is the real secret origin of Space Chicken. A few years ago, my friend Andrea gave me a haircut. To return the favor, I drew up a bunch of illustrations for her to use as CD sampler art. She said that she didn't really care what they were, so I just drew whatever I felt like. That day, I had this image in my head of a realistically drawn chicken in a custom space suit and drew this picture. It didn't come out quite as realistically illustrated or intricately designed as I pictured, but stuff rarely ever does. I brought the drawing in to work the next day to scan it in, and people started asking me about my new comic character. So, I just started making stuff up and giving him a backstory and it just snowballed from there. And that's how I got THAT idea.
