X-Babies #2 Page 6

INFO DUMP Bullpen Bulletins Style!

ITEM!: I'm finished drawing X-Babies #1 and am well into issue #2. Phew! Drawing a team book like this is more draining than I thought! There's so many panels where the whole team is standing around. I need to be more creative about cropping people out of the scene so I don't have to draw them!

ITEM!: I should have posted this sooner, but Chris Giarrusso's G-MAN: Cape Crisis #1 debuted a few weeks ago featuring a new, full color, Mighty Skullboy Army strip, along with comics from my other pals Brian Smith, Art Baltazar, and X-Babies writer Gregg Schigiel. Get it while it's hot!

ITEM!: Stewart (the Band) has posted the Skullboy Theme Song "Dance With Me!" on their MySpace page!

Back to work!

Unit 2!

Hey, guess what came in the mail today? A bank statement! Also these brand spanking new Unit 2 shirts for those of you few monkey lovers out there. Just in time for the San Deigo Comic Con, which is in like just a few minutes (July 22-26). It's a limited run of 50, but if I have some left after the convention, I'll put them up for sale in the store. So, if you're going to San Diego, it looks like I'll be set up in Artist's Alley at GG-13 right next to perennial convention-mates Chris Giarrusso and Gregg Schigiel.

In playing around with my new camera, I also took a shot of this X-Babies page in progress. Sneak Peak! X-Babies fighting dinosaurs!

X-Babies #1

Oh yeah! X-Babies! Marvel has announced the X-Babies mini-series I'm working on with my pal Gregg Schigiel, who's on writing duty. We've done a few interviews and some of the concept art has been posted around the internet. Gregg has a pretty comprehensive list of the articles up on his site if you want to check them out and read all the negative comments. Personally, the Mojo Mayhem Excalibur special that Art Adams drew back in the day was one of my favorite comics of all time, so I'm thrilled to be working on this project! Since this is going to take up most of my time for now, I'll probably be posting some art-in-progress from time to time. X-Babies, Go!

The Mighty Skullboy Army #11 Stewart - Dance With Me CD

I went to MoCCA was this past weekend! That's information that would have probably been more useful last week, but I was too busy working a new Skullboy comic to debut at the show. Plus me and this website weren't on speaking terms. But, we've since made up and here I am! I'm pleased to say Mighty Skullboy Army #11 featuring mostly Mod Dog and not-so-much the Mighty Skullboy army was a sell-out success. Also debuting at the show was the Skullboy Sampler CD, featuring music from my friend Andrea Tarka's band Stewart! She wrote a Skullboy theme song and we thought it might be a good idea to put out a limited run of a mini album of sorts with several other Stewart tracks, featuring jacket art by me. I will have both of these items at the San Diego Comic Con this July if you missed out at MoCCA. After that, if I have some left, I may put them up for sale in the store.

I will leave you with these mini sketches that I did while at the show.

What do artists do when they're too busy to draw something? Well, they rely on that ol' standby, CLIP ART! Happy Valentine's Day!

So, what have I been so busy doing? Lots of stuff! If you're in New York, Chris Giarrusso and I have an exhibit up in an actual art gallery! Here is the flyer for details. I will also be flying out to San Francisco for Wondercon, February 27th to March 1st. As for comics, I've drawn a 12 page story for Mike Raicht's Creature Feature #2 (reviewed here) entitled "Don't Eat the Snow," which should be out now. I have my copy! There's probably other stuff too, but I forget.
